Egypt's General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) is taking steps to enhance investment cooperation with Argentina after holding a high-level discussions on Monday with a key Argentine delegation. Yasser Abbas, GAFI's executive vice president, held the talks with the Argentine delegation, led by Argentina's Ambassador to Egypt, Holger Federico MARTINSEN and Sergio Pardo, executive officer of the Argentine Agency of Investment and International Trade (AAICI). The discussions centered on expanding bilateral investments, particularly in sectors of interest to Argentine investors, including biotechnology, agriculture, food manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, digital transformation, and renewable energy. Abbas also highlighted Egypt's rapid investment sector growth, showcasing significant infrastructure improvements, such as the expansion of the national road network to 8,000 kilometres and the development of new industrial and investment zones. The Argentine delegation commended Egypt's streamlined investment procedures after visiting the Investors Services Centre (ISC). The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GAFI and AAICI and to host a joint investment conference, fostering connections between business leaders from both countries.
