The National Bank for Development (NBD) has closed its main branch nearby to Simon Bolivar Square today because of the ongoing clashes between protestors and police officers in Tahrir Square and Qasr El-Nile Bridge's neighborhood after pronouncing the verdict of Port said football massacre which resulted in violent clashes between protestors and police forces in Cairo after setting the Egyptian Football Association's building ablaze. Central Security Forces has clashed with demonstrators in Qasr El-Nile Bridge and the neighborhood of Shepheard Hotel, killing 2 people and injuring 60 others. Suez Canal Bank limited the work in its main branch in Abdel Qader Hamza Street in Simon Bolivar Square to administrative work only, but stopped banking services, said the bank's security officials. Egyptian Gulf Bank's (EGB) branch is open for customers, but customer demand is low because of the as the ongoing clashes and concrete barriers in the streets leading to the branch, said a security official at the bank. Crédit Agricole Egypt and Barclays Bank Egypt stopped supplying their ATMs with funds in fear of being sabotaged during the clashes. Banque Misr and United Bank closed their main doors in Qasr El-Aini Street and opened side doors in Abdel Qader Hamza Street. Qasr El-Aini Street became a military barrack by Central Security Forces as it was closed by concrete barriers to prevent protestors to reach the buildings of the Parliament and Cabinet. Banks in Talaat Harb Street are working normally as they are relatively far from clashes. Banque Misr's branch in Talaat Harb Street is working normally, Yousry Abdel Ghany, head of the branch affirmed. In addition, banks in Evergreen Towers are also working normally.
