Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received on Saturday Børge Brende; Norway's Foreign Minister, in the presence of Sameh Shoukry; Egypt's Foreign Minister, as well as Norway's ambassador in Cairo. Ambassador Alaa Youssef, spokesman for the Presidency, said the President welcomed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, expressing his appreciation for the positive evolution witnessed in the bilateral relations between the two countries, and looking forwards more cooperation with Norway in all fields, particularly in sectors of sea freight, ports management, fisheries projects and conventional and renewable energy. El Sisi called major Norwegian companies to increase their investments in Egypt and to contribute in a number of projects under implementation, stressing the need to continue to work on economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The president also stressed Egypt's keenness to strengthen coordination and consultation with Norway about the common interest of regional and international issues, taking into account the constructive role played by Norway and the interest of the Palestinian people's issues and its efforts in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. The Spokesman added that the Foreign Minister of Norway during the meeting, expressed his appreciation for links between the two countries , stressing the strategic importance enjoyed by Egypt for the Arab world and Europe.
