Suez Canal Authority head, Mohab Mamish announced that 50 Ships weighing 2.8 million tons transited the canal on Tuesday, Youm7 News reported. Mamish pointed out that 32 ships weighing 1.7 million ton have crossed through the north of the canal, while 18 ships weighing 1.1 million ton have crossed through the south. He added that the largest ship crossed the canal from the north was the Danish "MAGLEBY MAERSK" container ship, coming from Netherlands heading to Singapore weighing 200 thousand tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the German "BASLE EXPRESS" container ship, coming from Singapore heading to Italy weighing 147 thousand tons.
