Suez Canal Authority head, Mohab Mamish announced that 36 Ships weighing 1.9 million tons transited the canal on Monday, Youm7 News reported. Mamish pointed out that 21 ships weighing 1.1 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal, while 15 ships weighing 800 thousand ton have crossed through the south. He added that the largest ship crossed the canal from the north was the Danish "MAREN MAERSK" container ship, coming from Spain heading to Singapore weighing 200 thousand tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Panamanian "ARMSC OSC" container ship weighing 196 thousand tons.
