A source within Suez Canal Authority revealed Saturday in a statement to Al Bawaba News, plans for 42 major projects to be implemented at Suez Canal. The source pointed out that six projects out of the 42 projects are a top priority to the government, including the development of Suez-Cairo and Ismailia-Port Said highway roads into freeways. The plans also include 28 other projects for the development of the Suez Canal region, including trade, free and logistical zones at the cities of Port Said, Rafah, Ismailia, Suez, and 10th of Ramadan, the source added. Furthermore, the source stressed that the rest of the 42 projects includes the establishment of a technological university in the Technology Valley in Ismailia and schools of hotel administration in the cities of Arish and Sheikh Zuweid, as well as a city for Medicine and Science teaching in collaboration with international universities in eastern Port Said. The source also mentioned plans to establish a solar plant to generate electricity with a capacity of 2500 megawatts and the reclamation of 400 thousand acres of land in northern Sinai at Al Salam Canal, as well as the reclamation of 1.659 million acres of land in Arish Valley.
