Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab announced Wednesday that Egypt intends to send specialized medical cadres to take part in developing the preventive systems against Ebola disease in West Africa, al-Bawaba News reported. Mahlab represented Egypt in the international conference on Africa's fight against Ebola in Equatorial Guinea, alongside Health Minister Adel Adawy. He announced $150 thousand are being granted to the affected States. Adawy has reviewed the efforts made by Egypt to keep it free of Ebola disease as well as cooperation measures with African governments to prevent the spread of Ebola in the continent. The Egyptian official has formerly formed a ministerial plenary session on financing and strengthening health systems to help in countering the deadly virus. Organized by the Commission of the African Union (AU) in accordance with the decision of the Conference of Heads of State, the international conference on the fight against Ebola in Africa, aims at identifying measures for the implementation of robust national health systems. The conference will be attended by Heads of State and Government, Ministers, senior officials of industry and partners to share experiences in the fight against Ebola disease and discuss ways to strengthen and consolidate health systems to deal with this crisis.
