Nour Party meets EU's Ashton, stresses need for 'political inclusiveness'
All political forces must be included in Egypt's transitional period, says Salafist Nour Party

Salafist Nour Party met with European Union's Foreign Policy High Representative Catherine Ashton on Monday to discuss the inclusion of all political groups in Egypt's transitional period.
The Nour Party told Ashton that it is important that no political groups are excluded in the current period, the party's spokesman Sherif Taha said in a statement on Tuesday.
Taha said that Ashton discussed the "lack of trust between the conflicting political forces," stressing that the European Union is keen to ensure a peaceful transition to democracy in Egypt. She added that the way out of the current political strife is through a mutual discussion between all groups.
In Monday's meeting with Ashton, the Nour Party also discussed the "dangers" of arresting and detaining Islamist figures who oppose deposed president Mohamed Morsi.
The party asserted that the "gains of popular will" should be reserved including the currently-frozen 2012 Constitution.
Ashton met with Bassam El-Zarqa, the party's assistant chief for political affairs, and Ashraf Thabet, member of the party's high council.
In her three-day visit to Egypt that started Monday, Ashton met with interim President Adly Mansour, Vice President for foreign affairs Mohamed ElBaradei, army commander-in-chief Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Muslim Brotherhood leaders, Rebel (Tamarod) Campaign leaders, and deposed president Mohamed Morsi.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Ashton insisted that she did not come to tell Egyptians what to do, referring to her efforts to help broker a deal to end the violence and solve the political crisis that has engulfed the country.
The army deposed Morsi on 3 July amid mass nationwide protests against him. Since then, the ousted president's supporters and opponents have clashed, leaving at least 200 dead and hundreds injured.
