Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived on Monday evening at the Coptic Christmas held at the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the New Administrative Capital. Head of Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros II led the Coptic Christmas mass. The Egyptian president has been attending the Coptic Christmas mass for the past four years. Egyptian ministers, MPs and top state officials attended the mass, which was broadcast on Egyptian TV channels. The Nativity of Christ Cathedral is the largest church in the Middle East, with a capacity to accommodate 8,200 worshipers. It was inaugurated in 2018. Coptic Orthodox Egyptians, who make up around 90 percent of all Christians in the country, celebrate Christmas on 7 January. Non-Orthodox Christians observed the holiday on 25 December.
