Egypt has sent a military transport plane carrying humanitarian aid to Djibouti, days after flash flooding hit the East African nation, the Egyptian military spokesman said on Sunday A quarter-million people have been affected by the downpours in the country since late last month, after what the United Nations said was the equivalent of two years of rainfall in a single day. The assistance sent by Egypt includes tents, blankets and food supplies, spokesman Tamer El-Refaey said in a statement. Cairo is among others, including Japan and the European Union, who have sent aid to Djibouti. Last week, El-Sisi stressed his country's support in a phone call with his Djiboutian counterpart Ismail Omar Guelleh.
