Senegal's Generation Foot waits for CAF decision over Zamalek's game, says no reason to postpone it
Published in Ahram Online on 29 - 09 - 2019

Senegalese club Generation Foot released a statement on Sunday confirming they will not be playing the game against Zamalek at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium.
The club said they are waiting for a decision from the Confederation of the African Football (CAF), and called into question the reason behind the postponing of the game and the change of venue.
Zamalek were due to host Generation Foot at Cairo's Petro Sport Stadium on Saturday, but the match was moved to Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium a day later for security reasons after CAF agreed to the change.
Generation Foot said they insist on facing Zamalek in Cairo on Saturday instead of Alexandria a day later.
"The security reason presented by Zamalek's management to support their request for postponing the game is not real," the Senegalese club said on their official website.
"Zamalek asked to postpone the game and reschedule it to be played a day later, meanwhile another Egyptian team based in Cairo, Ahly, hosted Cano Sport of Equatorial Guinea and won 4-0."
"The case will be left to the CAF to take their decision,"
"We will leave Cairo on Sunday at 6pm," Generation Foot announced.
On Friday, the African football governing body officially informed Generation Foot about the new venue and said the date was postponed by 24 hours.
Generation Foot arrived at Cairo's Petrosport Stadium on Saturday evening but were barred from entering by the stadium's officials.
Generation Foot put one leg in the CAF Champions League group stage after beating Zamalek 2-1 in the first leg on 14 October at home.
