Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed Egyptian-Chinese relations with chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Yang in Beijing, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.
During the meeting, the Egyptian president discussed Egypt's leading role in supporting peace and security in the Middle East, whether through its war on terrorism or its cooperation with friendly countries, including China.
The Egyptian president said that Egypt's policies have been built on positive interaction with all the countries of the world based on mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
Chairman Yang praised the economic reforms and political stability in Egypt, and said that he considers the Egyptian market a promising one for Chinese investments and companies.
He also stressed China's keenness to boost strategic cooperation with Egypt.
Yang is the chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the standing committee of the Central Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China.
El-Sisi arrived on Wednesday in China's capital at the invitation of the Chinese president to attend the 'Belt and Road' summit, which is being attending by a number of heads of state.
