We could have beat Cotonsport with a bigger score: Ahly coach
Published in Ahram Online on 24 - 05 - 2017

Egypt's Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry expressed satisfaction with Tuesday's 2-0 win against Cameroon's Cotonsport in the second game of the CAF Champions League group-stage at Stade Omnisport Roumdé Adjia in Garoua.
"The players were reliable and performed the tactics very well although we could have won with a bigger score as many chances were wasted," El-Badry said after the game.
Early goals from Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi and Moemen Zakareya sealed the points for the Reds, who made up for their goalless home draw with Zambia's Zanaco in the opener.
El-Badry said his squad needed to stop celebrating and focus on the next game, saying "the road to the title is still long."
Players happy with victory
Many Ahly players expressed their joy over the results, hoping to maintain momentum until they reach the title.
"We were very determined to win. We were very focused and we blocked any possible chance for the opponents," defender Saad Samir told the club's website.
Midfielder Abdulla El-Said said that the hot weather and bad arena were the most difficult challenges for the team.
"We're only there to win," said El-Said who was substituted out at half time due to a hamstring muscle strain.
Ivorian striker Souleymane Coulibaly expressed sadness over wasting chances in the game, saying he only needed more luck.
"As a striker, you need to score but I am happy to appear and play," he said.
The 57-year-old El-Badry has told the team to focus on their "domestic targets" as they close in on winning the Egyptian Premier League.
Ahly now lead Group D on four points, one ahead of Morocco's Wydad Casablanca who take on Zanaco on Wednesday.
