Photopia will hold a talk by Mohamed Aly Eddin who will explain what goes on behind the scenes of a photo story. Aly Eddin is a documentary photojournalist who is interested in documenting the change in Egyptian society and life outside Cairo. At Photopia he will talk about how to plan and build a good photo essay, with tips for amateurs and professionals alike, helpful for all genres of photography -- not just documentary. He will share some of the situations and problems he encountered on his assignments and how to deal with them. Aly Eddin won the WPPH grant for ‘Reporting change' in 2013. In 2014, he won the Manuel Riveras Ortiz Foundation grant for documentary photography. He has published work in National Geographic, The Washington Post and Noor Foundation.
