Breaking: South Sudan admitted to U.N. as 193rd member

The General Assembly admitted South Sudan on Thursday as the 193rd member of the United Nations.
The assembly vote, by acclamation, followed the African country's achievement of independence on Saturday, breaking away from Sudan.
