Egyptian group El Sewedy Electric is negotiating with Ghana to install a wind power project with investments of $350 million to $400 million, a newspaper said on Thursday.
Sewedy would begin work on the project in January if granted approval by the Ghanaian government, Ahmed Azouz, head of Sewedy's office in Ghana, told al-Mal newspaper.

Sewedy officials contacted by Reuters were not immediately available for comments.
The Egyptian group is also working on other projects in Ghana. These projects, totalling some $67 million, include a road lighting project and eight power generation projects in Accra, the newspaper said.
The wind farm equipment maker had said it was also eyeing wind markets in Brazil, Turkey, Pakistan and Libya.
Sewedy plans to produce 300 towers in 2012 at its wind towers plant in Ain Sukhna, located on Egypt's Red Sea coast. The group, which is also the Arab world's biggest listed cable maker, has production plants in Ghana as well as in ten other countries. It exports to markets in the Middle East North Africa region, Brazil, Portugal, Spain and Eastern Europe.
