Egypt's Foreign Ministry reaffirms its strong commitment to the constants and determinants of a political settlement for the Palestinian cause, emphasising that it remains the central issue in the Middle East, a Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday. The delay in resolving this issue, ending the occupation, and restoring the usurped rights of the Palestinian people is the root cause of instability in the region, according to the statement. In this context, Egypt reaffirms its ongoing support for the Palestinian people, praising their steadfastness in defending their land and legitimate rights in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law, the statement reads. The statement rejected any violation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, whether through settlement, the annexation of land, or the forced displacement through evictions or transfers – whether carried out on a temporary or long-term basis. This jeopardises stability and increases the risk of further conflict in the region, hindering chances for peace and coexistence among its peoples, according to the ministry's statement. The ministry calls on the international community to take concrete steps towards the implementation of the two-state solution. This includes the establishment of a Palestinian state on its full national territory, encompassing the unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the lines of June 4, 1967.
