The Zayed Giving (ZG) convoy has concluded its humanitarian work in Egyptian villages by treating 3,000 children and elderly patients in its UAE-Egyptian mobile field hospital in the village of Al Qurain in Sharqiya Governorate. The hospital is supervised by the Doctors of Giving, a team of UAE and Egyptian volunteer physicians, through a programme from the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Organisation, Sharjah Charity International, the Saudi-German Hospital and the Emirates Volunteer Centre, in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Ministry of Youth. Dr Hosam Abu Sati, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health in Sharqiya, expressed his appreciation to the UAE's leadership and people while stressing that the UAE is a global leader in the field of humanitarian assistance and helping vulnerable patients. He also thanked the Zayed Giving Initiative and the UAE-Egyptian medical volunteer team for their philanthropic activities and charity initiatives in Egypt. Dr Adel Al Shameri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Chairman of the Emirates Community and Specialised Volunteering Programme and Head of Emirates Doctors, stated that the success of medical convoys in Egypt is due to the efforts of UAE and Egyptian volunteers, who provided a model of giving and volunteering to reduce the suffering of patients.
