Head of Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish announced that 50 ships weighing 2.9m tons have crossed Tuesday through Suez Canal, Youm7 News reported. Mamish pointed out that 22 ships weighing 1.2m tons crossed through the north gate of the canal, while 28 ships weighing 1.7m tons crossed through the new Suez Canal. He added that the largest ship that crossed the canal from the north was the Panamanian MSC DANIELA container ship weighing 156,000 tons. It was coming from France and heading to Oman. The largest ship that crossed the new Suez Canal was NEW DREAM oil tanker weighing 173,000 tons.
