Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is expected to give a speech, Saturday, commemorating 39th anniversary of Egypt's military victory against Israel during the 1973 war, commonly known as the 6 October or Yom Kippur War. The popular ceremony is scheduled to start 3pm Saturday afternoon at Cairo Stadium, located in the capital's eastern district of Madinet Nasr. On 6 October 1973, the Egyptian army defeated its Israeli counterpart to liberate the Sinai Peninsula, which had been occupied by Israel six years earlier. Every year since, Egyptians have commemorated the historic victory.
