Cote d'Ivoire announce Beaumelle as new coach

The Cote d'Ivoire Football Federation (FIF) appointed on Wednesday French coach Patrice Beaumelle as the national team's new boss.
"The executive committee accepted the appointment of Patrice Beaumelle as the Elephants new boss for the coming 12 months," read a statement on FIF's official website on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old coach will replace Ibrahim Kamara, who parted ways with Cote d'Ivoire last month.
Beaumelle, who has been the assistant of French coach Herve Renard since 2008, had a previous experience with the Elephants in 2014, helping them win the Africa Cup of Nations title the next year.
He was named as Morocco's U-23 coach in 2019 but was fired after failing to qualify the team for the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Beaumelle's first appearance will be in a double header against Madagascar in the Nations Cup qualifiers on 23 and 31 March.
Cote d'Ivoire, who started the Nations Cup qualifiers campaign with a narrow 1-0 win at home over Niger, suffered a shock 2-1 away loss to Ethiopia to lie third in Group K with three points, three off Group leaders Madagascar.
