A number of political forces and the Doctors Syndicate protested in front of the British Embassy in Cairo Monday, expressing their support for the family of doctor who was killed in London recently. The demonstrators demanded to open investigations into the incident. Demonstrators raised banners to criticize what they described as a racial incident. Mohamed Asaad, father of the killed doctor, criticized the performance of Egypt's Foreign Ministry, accusing its officials of not protecting the Egyptians abroad. He added that the ministry did not know when the doctor's body would arrive. He accused his son's colleagues of committing the crime, as his son was the only Arab and Muslim working in the hospital. The doctor's mother stressed the necessity of opening a fair and transparent investigation into the killing of her son. Khaled Abdou, member of the Free Egyptians Party, said that the case is that of an Egyptian youth who worked to achieve a better future. He said that the British Foreign Ministry would take serious measures if a British citizen were killed in Egypt. Dr. Hisham Nasar, member of the syndicate, said that their message is that Egyptian blood is not cheap, and they demand opening of an investigation to arrest the criminal.
