Cairo - Through a symposium entitled 'Religious Dimension & Culture of the Future' at Cairo International Book Fair, Dr. ‘Mahmoud Abdallah', the expert at The National Centre of Social Studies, said that religion has no relation with the social and economic progress because progress in various fields occurs when society adopts a set of human values which push religion toward civilization. It is possible for religion to have a role in progress if it sponsors the reformation movement. From his side, the Iraqi thinker ‘Dr. Akram Hawas', said that creating a society without conflicts occurs when we are given a space wider enough for us all; religions start by an idea, then a group and afterwards, other elements are included, pointing to the fact that if we want it to be positive, we need to let it into the wide space of that movement between people so that there could be a real society. Consequently, the role of religion in society should be released to the general space so as not to repeat the individualism idea.
