Washington - US President Trump has been confronted with a global backlash over signing an executive order on Friday that restricts citizens entry from seven Muslim countries, suspends all refugee admission for 120 days, amid calls by rights groups to retract the decision. However, ‘Saleh Alzoubik', a Libyan political analyst, commended the decision saying, "US president Donald Trump is totally right on his recent decisions, especially his executive order to close America's borders to refugees and immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries, including Libya." In his exclusive statement to "Albawaba's Arab News Portal" on Sunday Mr. Alzoubik said, "The world should have joined forces with Mr. Trump in the face of terrorism rather than forming coalitions against him." He added, "At first, Trump's decision seems shocking and insane. However, if we think about it with facts, we will find the decision is just right." He pointed out that more than 2000 Libyan passports were reportedly issued following the events of February 17th 2011 (which toppled former long-time Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi), and held by terrorist elements who are not Libyan citizens at all. Those, under international law, have the right to seek political asylum in the USA, according to the official travel documents that show they are ‘Libyan'.
