With 2015 just hours away, Cairo theaters and cultural venues are offering a variety of delightful choices to guarantee Cairenes an unforgettable night. Egypt, with its 7000 year old civilization, never fails to amaze its people with cultural, artistic and oriental attractions. Cairo Opera house, a landmark of art, culture and music located on the southern portion of Gezira Island in Zamalek, prepared six different programs to celebrate the New Year. Celebrations will take place at all venues of the Opera House. The Main Hall hosts a stunning concert for classical music lovers by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra led by Hungarian maestro Franz Rosa accompanied by Hungarian soprano Nicolita Rado. The Open Air theater will feature an oriental Mawlaweya show by the Egyptian Mawlawiya led by Amer El Touny. Guitarist Emad Hamdy and his band will welcome the new year with Latin beats playing, performing and singing to rumba, salsa, tango, merengue and gypsy tunes. On a different note, Christmas carols will be sung on El Gomhouria Theatre stage. The Arab Music Institute will feature the Abdel Halim Nowera Ensemble for Arab Music led by maestro Salah Gobashi in an oriental night for Arab music fans. The Alexandria Opera Ensemble for Music and Arab Singing will perform at the Damanhour opera house. And for all comedy lovers out there, the famous Teatro Masr troupe headed by comic genius Ashraf Abdel Baki, is all you need to guarantee a laughter coming from the heart. The troupe will celebrate the New Year with its fans on Must opera house stage in Sixth of October city. Abdel Baki and his troupe will present their new play written especially for 2015, called Father is not Christmas and Best Wishes for a happy New year. One of Egypt's cultural landmarks, El Sawy cultural wheel located in Zamalek, prepared a wonderful show for fans of both puppet shows and the ever popular singer Mohamed Mounir. For the first time on El Sakkia puppet theatre, a show starring a Mounir puppet , featuring Mounir's biggest hits. Hawadeet cultural center and bookstore located in 6, Gamal Salem street in Dokki, has found the key to kids entertainment, organizing a carnival for children including puppet, magician and araguz shows, contests with Santa as well as a variety of other activities to bring joy to children and their families.
