Ahli are urging their fans to be on their best behaviour when the Algerian JS Kabylie come visiting, reports Inas Mazhar Two days before Ahli's second leg clash with JS Kabylie of Algeria in Cairo, Ahli club president Hassan Hamdi called on Ahli fans to welcome the Algerian team after a tumultuous first leg. At a press conference in Ahli club on Sunday, Hamdi said he will lead a delegation of the club's officials when receiving the Algerian team which is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on Friday, one day before their crucial tie on Saturday 28 August. Playing in Algeria after the tension of last year's Algeria-Egypt World Cup qualifiers, Ahli lost 1-0 to JS Kabylie in their Group B Orange CAF Champions League clash two weeks ago in Tizi Ouzou. Adding insult to injury, the Ahli squad also suffered two rock throwing incidents at the hands of Algerians, a matter which forced Ahli to lodge a complaint with the African football association, the CAF. Hamdi had told a press conference in Algeria before flying home that Ahli would file an official complaint with CAF after the team bus was pelted with stones before and after the match, and following the setting off of potentially dangerous fireworks on the field and the throwing of stones at the players during the match. The incidents were in marked contrast to the warm welcome the Ahli team received upon arriving in Algeria. But back in Cairo Hamdi urged bygones be bygones, calling on Ahli fans to forget the incidents which he described as individual actions "which do not reflect the attitude of Algerian fans." Hamdi asked the fans to support their team in the stadium in order to claim victory and thanked the media in both countries "for being objective, fair and unbiased in their reporting about the match and the incidents." The club received a fax from the African Confederation confirming that the CAF will look into Ahli's complaints against the referee of the first-leg match after he cancelled Ahli midfielder Mohamed Shawki's equaliser late in the game. Ahli also complained about the rough treatment they received by stadium staff after arguing with the referee about the validity of Shawki's goal. Neither the referee nor the match commissioner mentioned these issues in the match report. Meanwhile, Ahli's Hossam Ghali, who was shown the red card during the game, will be suspended for four matches, the CAF announced. Midway through the group stage with three games left, JS Kabylie lie at the top of the group with nine points followed by Ahli with four. Third-place Ismaili have three points and Heartland FC of Nigeria one.
