Horoscopes:
Fights for fairness
By Imhotep
To say that April might be a startling month won't quite cover it, my dear Scales as people born under the Cardinal Air sign of Libra (23 Sep-23 Oct) are sometimes called. Shocking maybe, and totally unexpected, for certain. Regardless of how it works out, use your innate gift for adapting to any situation to help the rest of us. We'll need it. Scales know how to move smoothly into the top seat. April offers plenty of opportunities for them to do so.
Librans have an innate sense of fairness. The Ancient Egyptians depicted the concept of truth, justice and balance, or Maat, as a beautiful, pubescent girl crowned with tiara surmounted by an ostrich feather. Libra, the only zodiac sign represented by an inanimate object, should have been represented by Maat because justice is beautiful especially in the eyes of one wronged.
After weeks of thinking this over, you are absolutely ready to have that sit-down chat with someone -- the one you've been trying to put off indefinitely, whether or not you realise it.
Ruled by Mars, Eagles, as people born under the Fixed Water sign of Scorpio (24 Oct-23 Nov) are sometimes called, will venture into darker and more outlandish territory towards the end of March. Friends will follow you to the ends of earth. They will stand by you even when they think that you have gone mad. But foes, especially those lurking in the dark, will use the vilest scurrilous gossip to tarnish your reputations.
The Red Planet, named after the Roman god of war, was known to the Ancient Egyptians as Har Dekhter -- The Red One. And, Eagles shall see red in April. Eagles must adapt to live in a fast-changing world. They are sometimes held back by their own stubbornness.
You are ready to take up arms and fight for your favourite cause, and there's not much you'll stop at to make sure you get the results you want. Whether defending a person or an issue, you'll do whatever it takes to win. You go!
Mars contains the largest known volcanoes in our solar system -- the largest volcano on Mars, Olympus Mons, is only slightly smaller than the state of Texas.
And, Texas is also known as the Lone Star state, and Eagles will be well advised to keep to themselves in the first two weeks of April. Indeed, April is a month when some Eagles will feel ill-at-ease in personal relationships. A typical Eagle will be tempted to indulge in fantasies and might conjure up wild schemes in the middle of the month.
And, remember my dear Eagles, that it is depressing to spend too much time reliving old joys. Save a few moments for savouring special memories, if you must. But, you must not let your sentimental nature lead you astray into a never-never land of elusive dreams.
Centaurs, as people born under the Mutable Fire sign of Sagittarius (24 Nov-23 Dec) are sometimes called, are in for more than one surprise in the weeks ahead. There's a tricky month ahead of you -- the kind you probably wouldn't know what to do with until it's over. Your best bet is to find someone who loves and understands you and stick close to them.
By the second week of April Sagittarians will be running into problems they have not anticipated. Centaurs would do battle with the four horsemen of the apocalypse -- conflict, defeat, hunger and death -- in April. And, Sagittarians shall prevail.
My dear Centaurs, you are a fearless lot. And, you can be fearsome, too. Sagittarians do not share the Librans' great respect for authority. They speak their minds and are prone to clash with both boss and underling when in a bad mood. Next time you speak to the boss, be careful what you say. Express your feelings, but do it with tact. Think of a resourceful way to keep evil at bay.
Look out next week for Imhotep's reading of
Capricorn, Aquarius
& Pisces
