The 15th reading for All campaign is on. Yesterday, Mrs Suzanne Mubarak inaugurated this year's campaign with a call for dedicated efforts on the part of all concerned governmental and non-governmental bodies across the nation to invest every possible effort in promoting reading. Hundreds of public libraries in all governorates are currently devoting themselves to the thousands of titles that are expected to be published this year for readers of all age groups. On Saturday, Nasser El-Ansari, chairman of the General Egyptian Book Organisation, will hold a press conference to announce the details of this year's campaign. Since its start in the summer of 1990 at the initiative of Mrs Suzanne Mubarak, the Reading for All campaign has expanded from a project of limited libraries to a nationwide cultural campaign that serves millions of readers. It has produced inexpensive copies of literary, scientific and other titles by contemporary and classic writers.
