The American University in Cairo New Cairo Campus, Abdul Latif Jameel Hall, Plaza Level, Tel 02 2615 3318 The Photographic Gallery “Intifadat Al Aqsa,” a photographic exhibition from the gallery's archival collection by Palestinian photographer Osama Silwadi. The exhibition is a collection of coloured photographs, which cover the Al Aqsa Intifada of 2000 and which resulted in Silwadi being lightly wounded by Israeli gunfire. However, in October 2006, he was critically shot by two stray bullets fired from an armed demonstrator in downtown Ramallah after which he was paralyzed from the waist down and was not able to walk again (20 September-19 October).

Palace of Arts “Wings of Mexico,” two wings of bronze created by Mexico's world-renowned contemporary artist Jorge Marin placed upon an iron frame, above three steps of concrete, two isolated wings, that seemingly stand in thin air; then, someone climbs the steps, stands in front of them and, for that moment, it all makes sense. The sculpture will be placed in front of the entrance of the Palace of Arts building for six month until October. The 39 General Exhibition 2017 honours artists: Gaber Hegazi, Gamil Shafik, Said Hedaya, Ahmed Shiha (20 September-8 October). Tel 02 2576 8086 Factory Space “In The Anticipation of a Future Need to Know,” is a four-part video installation in which artist Ash Moniz recasts the performative rituals involved in the production of official documents and physical records. In excavating the layers of meaning behind these records, this work exposes the way human conduct, movement, speech, and action is inscribed within the machinery of bureaucratic systems (closing 1 November).
