Delegations of Palestinian factions attended on Tuesday the second round of the national dialogue, which Cairo is hosting with a focus on removing obstacles facing the coming Palestinian general elections. The second round will last till Wednesday in a bid to help Palestinian people hold their first national election in 15 years. Several election promises, however, have not been fulfilled amid inter-Palestinian differences. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi addressed the participating delegations, expressing hope that the goals of the national dialogue are achieved. The Palestinian factions held their previous round of talks this year in Cairo last month, during which they reached an agreement on the mechanisms for holding the parliamentary and presidential elections. The parliamentary elections are set to be held on 22 May and the presidential elections have been set for 31 July.
