Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard said he has no regrets over teenager Francesc Fabregas' move to Premiership giants Arsenal, Sky Sports reported on Friday. The 18-year-old midfielder was at Barcelona's disposal until 2003 when he joined Arsenal on a free transfer as he did not sign a professional contract with the Catalan giants. "You have to look at it two ways. Firstly it's a shame not to have him as he was in our youth set-up," Rijkaard said. "But on the other hand, you have to accept he must have had his reasons for looking for an adventure elsewhere," he added. Since joining Arsenal, the Spaniard established himself in the heart of Gunners' midfield especially after the departure of Patrick Vieira to Juventus during the off-season. Fabregas produced a sparkling display in Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League recently as he scored a goal and set-up Thierry Henry for The other. The Dutch coach said he is not satisfied by the current youths-approach between clubs while expressing his hope that Fabregas can maintain his form. "It's not the ideal situation between the clubs to take youth players, but that's how the market is," he said. "Hopefully Cesc can keep playing at the level he is, but you have to think that if he had stayed here he might not have reached the first team," he added.
