UPDATES: Egyptian military sources said a police vehicle was detonated Saturday morning southern al-Arish city, North Sinai, leaving two conscripts killed and 18 others injured, al-Bawaba News reported. The injured conscripts have been moved to a military hospital in al-Arish to receive treatment, the sources added. The Islamic State offshoot Wilayat Sinai claimed its responsibility for the car bomb. Security official who spoke to Al Bawaba on condition of anonymity said that the militants had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in a part vehicle on the side of a road near al-Arish police station. Since the ouster of Muslim Brotherhood rule July 2013, hundreds of security personnel and civilians were killed and severely injured in deadly attacks claimed by the Islamic State in the Sinai Peninsula.
