Egypt's military defuses 18 IEDs in North Sinai

Egypt's military defused Sunday 18 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in villages southern Sheikh Zuwaid, North Sinai, Al Bawaba News reported.
The IEDs, planted in a mine field, were defused by bullets, military sources said, indicating the move comes within the framework of a military campaign against terrorist hotbeds in the restive Sinai Peninsula.
Since the ouster of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) president Mohamed Morsi July 2013, Sinai has witnessed a string of deadly blasts claiming hundreds of lives, mostly among police personnel.
