Minister of Local Development Mohamed Atiya said the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) has not asked the cabinet to discuss amendments to the electoral law. Amendments would count votes inside polling stations, instead of transferring ballots to central stations to be counted. The amendment was proposed by Abdel Moez Ibrahim, the head of the Supreme Electoral Committee, to avoid the errors that happened during the first phase of the vote. Atiya told Youm7 turnout is expected to be lower during the election runoff scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Voting is not compulsory, he added.
