CAIRO, Sept 18, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad directed bodies concerned to continue surprise inspection campaigns on all sources that cause pollution of River Nile and ordered rigorous application of the environmental standards. The minister urged taking all legal measures against any form of violation to the standards stated in Law 48 of 1982 concerning the protection of the River Nile. Fouad made the remarks on Tuesday during her inspection tour of Cairo's southern region to follow up work of the inspection teams and monitoring procedures at River Nile. Fouad thanked the environment police for their close cooperation with the ministry and Environmental Affairs Agency with the aim of protecting the environment, natural wealth and resources.
