Going shopping is a heartfelt joy, and finding the desired item is an even better feeling.
As summer approaches, you are bound to hit the mall for a summer beach bag, bikini and other essential items. Here are some guidelines on what to buy and where to get it.
If you plan to splash your cash on a beach bag, you might consider one of a range of Bottega Veneta bags on offer at Beymen, with prices around LE1500. You'll find a branch of Baymen at the Four Seasons Hotel in Garden City.
Baymen also carries items by Dolce & Gabana, and if animal print is you thing, then you might want to slip into D&G bikini – assuming you're not put off by the LE1900 price tag.
As for footwear, how about some “jellies” from Michael Kors? These comfortable plastic sandals come in white, black, fuchsia, yellow and copper. The entire MK collection is available at Villa Babouchka on Ismail Mohamed Street in Zamalek, and one pair will set you back LE650.
Women's Secret is a fine place to shop for a range of swimwear and beach-related accessories, including flip-flips and colorful towels. The shop has branches in Mohandessin and the City Stars mall in Nasr City.
The Soho boutique in Zamalek has an unprecedented collection of bikinis; the swimsuits are colorful and many are beaded or adorned with big stones. The prices range between LE400 and LE600. There is a discounted collection upstairs from last season, which is also worth seeing. Soho is on Aziz Othman Street in Zamalek.
Laloushi has a nice collection of pouches and beach bags. The made-in-Egypt collection is colorful and fresh. The pouch goes for LE390 and the big beach bag costs LE490. You'll also find a nice collection of thongs and scarves. Laloushi is located on Mohamed Mazhar Street in front of Safir Hotel in Zamalek.
