Cairo - Leader of Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church, Pope Tawadros II praised his visit to Australia, saying that this visit makes a good and strong link between the Mother Church in Egypt established in the middle of the first century, and with the new church established here 50 years ago. However, the visit has its political dimension, as the Egyptian top Christian cleric expressed his appreciation to Australian government for its support for the Egyptian government during the current critical period. Tawadros stressed the need for supporting national unity in Egypt to undermine the agendas adopted by the terrorist groups that target the Christian churches. He added, "All Egyptians are moderate. All the Egyptian history, from Pharaonic until now, is very moderate." He stressed that the attacks which happen in Egypt come from outside to affect national unity of Egyptians.
