Abu Dhabi- A newspaper in the UAE has reported that with famine looming large over Somalia and threatening the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, it is heartening that the generous UAE has once again risen to the occasion by extending a helping hand to the brotherly nation, reported by WAM. "The wholehearted support extended by all sections to the "For You Somalia" campaign and the corresponding unified media campaign broadcast has undoubtedly enhanced the position of the UAE and its leadership in the field of charity and assistance," said The Gulf Today in an editorial on Thursday. The campaign is in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in co-operation with the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and all UAE charity organisations and foundations.
