MP Abdel Rehim Ali said on Sunday the parliament speaker should have invited head of press syndicate for a meeting with interior minister to end the crisis between both sides. This came during a session today dedicated to discuss a way out for the crisis that erupted after the police forces had stormed the syndicate headquarters May 1 and detained two journalists. The police and journalists have been one hand in the face of terror. The police forces have repeatedly accompanied journalists to cover the police activities in the Sinai and other regions, Ali said. The session came after a two-week hiatus. Ali, an outstanding journalist and researcher, submitted an urgent statement to parliament speaker office hours after the incident. A number of journalists within the parliament said they would interrogate minister of the interior on the incident.
