Egyptian PM Sharif Ismail witnessed Wednesday the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Minister of Social Solidarity, Ghada Wali and the Executive Director of 'Tahya Misr' fund, Mohamed Ashmawy, to address the phenomenon of homeless children in Egypt, Al-Bawaba News reported. The protocol worth EGP 114m aims to develop the infrastructure of social welfare institutions to rehabilitate and protect 80% of the homeless children, as well as the development of 83 family counseling offices and 82 social control offices. The ministry will also form specialized teams to help those homeless children through mobile medical units which provides health services for the children in the street. This project will be implemented in the most ten provinces which suffer from the homeless children phenomenon, based on a report prepared by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which estimated the number of homeless children by 22,000 children nationwide.
