Abbas: Palestinians' unbearable condition roots of tensions

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday that the Palestinians are living in a difficult and unbearable condition due to the ongoing Israeli occupation.
"The escalation of the occupation and its settlers' hostile practices is the main reason for the current instability," Abbas told a joint news conference he held with his Lithuanian counterpart Dalia Grybauskaite in Ramallah.
"These practices, the absence of a political horizon to achieve just and comprehensive peace, took our young men to this status of despair, frustration and tension," said Abbas.
He called for enabling the Palestinians for its self-determination, gaining freedom and living independent to the side of the state of Israel in peace and good neighboring.
Abbas also said that he had discussed with his Lithuanian counterpart the current escalation of violence, terrorism and radicalism practiced by Israel on the Palestinian people.
"Our position is clear and firm that it is necessary to find political solutions to the current problems through out dialogues, and gather all efforts to confront extremism and terrorism in the region," said Abbas.
For her part, Grybauskaite who arrived in Ramallah earlier Tuesday said her country backs the option of the two states through out peaceful negotiations that enable both states to live in peace together.
She also expressed readiness that her country would be "so happy" to encourage the two sides to get back to the peace process and enable the Palestinians to live in peace and a better living condition.
Since the beginning of October, a wave of tension and violent confrontations has been going on between Israel and the Palestinians.
Violence between the two sides had left so far 47 Palestinians and nine Israelis killed, besides wounding more than 2,000 most of them were Palestinians.
