The new appointed Prime Minister Sharif Ismail was authorized to form Egypt's new Cabinet after the resignation of the current caretaker government headed by Ibrahim Mahlab on Saturday. Ismail's journey with the government started with the first government after June 30 Revolution, as he bore the responsibility of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in Hazem Al Beblawy's government on July 2013. He managed to keep his position during the transitional period and after the ascent of Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. Ismail was born on July 6,1955. He ia married and has a son and a daughter. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University in 1978. He served as an engineer at Mobil Company until 1979 then he transferred to ENPPI. In 2000 he worked in several important positions such as the general manager of technical affairs, a member of the Board of Directors, undersecretary of the ministry of petroleum to follow up the affairs and operations of oil and gas until being the Prime Minister. Ismail worked in many leadership positions at international oil companies from 2005 until 2013. In July 16, 2013 he became a Minister of Petroleum since until September 12, 2015 where he became the Egyptian Prime Minister. Reactions Since his appointment to be Egypt's new prime minister, Ismail has faced increasing criticism. He was accused of being a member of Muslim Brotherhood and a supporter of ousted President Mohamed Morsi.Others criticized his relations with a number of media channels. Founder of the Ghad El-Thawra Party Ayman Nour stated on his Twitter account, "We are facing a shocking choice". "Emphasizing on the consistent policy of choosing those who got suspicion hovering over them." However, the criticism has not been limited to the June 30 supporters, while it extended to the other parties and groups, including Muslim Brotherhood. Muslim Brotherhood and their supporters expressed their refusal to the developments witnessed in Egypt since ousting former President Mohamed Morsi on July 3, 2013. They criticized Ismail's choice Chairman of Zamalek club Mortada Mansour stated during a television interview on Dream2 TV channel, during a show titled "10'oclock" stated that there are a strong friendship between the accused businessman in a corruption case of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mohamed Foda and the new Prime Minister Sharif Ismail. The owner of Al-Faraeen Channel Tawfiq Okasha accused the new prime minister Sherif Ismail who is in charge of forming the new government Saturday during a show titled "Egypt Today" stating that "Sherif Ismail was the first to shed light on the victory of the ousted president Mohamed Morsi during the presidency elections back, and has a penchant for the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group."
