A hardline Islamist group known as Jaysh al-Islam (the Army of Islam) recently released a video, showing its members shooting dead a group of alleged Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants. Jaysh al-Islam is a coalition of multiple Islamist and Salafist units involved in the Syrian Civil War. Its primary base of operations are the Damascus neighborhoods of Douma and Eastern Ghouta. In the video, Jaysh al-Islam used similar techniques to that of ISIS, however it reversed roles. Jaysh al-Islam militants were donning orange outfits when they were killing 18 men dressed in black. ISIS captures are usually seen wearing orange jumpsuits. The militants said they shot these alleged ISIS members in revenge for the recent beheading of three Jaysh al-Islam fighters. Last Thursday, ISIS posted a gruesome video, showing the execution of 12 militants who were said to be captured after battles in Ghouta.
