Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Cairo early Monday to meet President Al Sisi and discuss issues of joint concern with Egyptian officials. Sheikh Mohamud is scheduled to meet President Abdel-Fattah Al Sisi at Ittihadiya presidential palace to examine future cooperation between the two African countries. Discussions between the two leaders will also explore counter terrorism efforts and ways to combat the rise of extremist thought in Africa. Somalia's internationally-backed government as well as the African Union's AMISOM forces have been plagued by a quasi constant wave of attacks from Somalia's Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Shabaab rebels.
