OVER 100,000 people took to US streets 27 October in coordinated regional and local protests to demand an immediate end to the war in Iraq, just six weeks after the 15 September National March and Die-In in Washington, DC that was led by Iraq War Veterans and family members of soldiers and marines. Cindy Sheehan and other prominent anti-war activists addressed the more than 30,000 demonstrated in San Francisco, who enacted a dramatic Die-In on Market Street where the crowd lay down to symbolise the 3,900 American and over a million Iraqi deaths in the war. Similar crowds marched in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Seattle, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Jonesborough and Chattanooga (Tennessee), Salt Lake City, Denver, Rochester and others. ImpeachBush and hundreds of other groups organised for the 27 October protests. In the next two months, ImpeachBush will organise more demonstrations, street protests, take out ImpeachBush ads, and collect petitions in every state in the country.
