Chinese are here to stay

SPERANZA�ê�, �ê�Tiggo�ê�, �ê�Cherry�ê�, �ê�Geely and Brilliance are only few names of Chinese cars that are currently spreading in the Egyptian market�ê�. �ê�
After years of considering Chinese cars as being of low quality there is a change in the culture of the Egyptian consumer�ê�; �ê�they�ê� �ê�are accepting Chinese brands�ê�, �ê�noted Ahmed Abdel-Ghani�ê�, �ê�an auto market analyst in a leading investment bank�ê�. �ê�
In fact�ê�, �ê�Chinese manufacturers are improving their quality and have introduced several brands with very good specifications while attractively priced�ê�. �ê�Thus the perception that Chinese products sacrifice quality for their competitive price is fading�ê�. �ê�
Chinese cars are the next big wave in the market�ê�, �ê�according to Mustafa�ê�. �ê�"These are cycles that started with German cars leading the market until the less expensive Japanese made their debut in Egypt�ê�.�ê�"�ê� �ê�
"The golden days of Korean cars came when their Japanese competitors raised their prices�ê�. �ê�We now have Korean cars exceeding the LE130,000�ê� �ê�threshold while Chinese cars are entering the market slowly but steadily�ê�.�ê�"
The attractive price of Chinese cars encouraged GB Auto�ê�, �ê�the distributor of Hyundai�ê�, �ê�Mazda and Volvo in Egypt�ê�, �ê�to include a Chinese car in its product mix�ê�. �ê�
"We are including Jeely in our sales mix to cater for the change in culture�ê�, �ê�now people started to accept it�ê�, �ê�especially that it�ê� �ê�is low priced�ê�,�ê�"�ê� �ê�noted GB Auto's Sadek.�ê�
Made in China cars have been spreading in the spreading in the world market in recent years as China emerges as a car producer .
Moreover a number of Chinese companies now have assembly lines in Egypt. The first of which Brilliance Auto which established its assembly line in cooperation with Bavarian Auto in Egypt in March, 2006.
Focusing on expanding the international market, Brilliance Auto also debuted its SPLENDOR car in Egypt on 2007.
According Xinhua news agency Chery Automobile., another leading car producer and exporter in China, also has its own factory in Egypt with an annual product capability of 25,000 units, which can be increased to 50,000 if necessary.
According to statistics, about 20 Chinese auto companies have sold their vehicles in the Egyptian market since 2003 with an annual sales volume of 3,000 to 4,000 units.
