Itinerary of the month: Nile feluccas and Red Sea delights

THIS low-budget 14-day itinerary allows you to experience an interesting excursion in Upper Egypt by feluccas and a relaxing vacation on the beaches of Hurghada. It is a unique opportunity to sail the majestic Nile, visit all the treasures of Upper Egypt the traditional way and enjoy the wonders of the Red Sea. You'll not only be transported by feluccas to the temples and tombs of Upper Egypt but will also spend nights eating, drink and being entertained on board. During parts of the trip, donkeys and camels will be used as a means of transportation. You will also have the choice of either relaxing on the golden beaches of Hurghada or indulging in one of the sea safaris where snorkelling and diving are the highlights.
All of this will be taken care of easily and efficiently by Creative Travel.
The trip is fully escorted by experienced tour leaders and Egyptologists at key locations.
Day 1: Arrival at Cairo Airport and transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Visit the Pyramids, Sphinx and Valley of the Temple. Optional visit to the Egyptian Museum. Afternoon transfer to Cairo train station to take the train to Aswan. Overnight on board of train.
Day 3: Arrival to Aswan train station. Transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore the beauty of Aswan. Optional visit to the Nubian Museum. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Free day allowing those who are interested to visit the temples of Abu Simbel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to your felucca where you will first have a ride around the Elephantine Island and Agha Khan Mausoleum. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 6: Breakfast on board. Visit of the Unfinished Obelisk, the High Dam and Philae Temple. Sail to Kom Ombo. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 7: Breakfast on board. Visit Kom Ombo Temple. Sail to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 8: Breakfast on board. Visit Edfu Temple. Drive to Luxor. Visit to Karnak Temple by horse-drawn carriage. Overnight at a hotel in Luxor.
Day 9: Donkey ride to the west bank of the Nile to visit the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. Afternoon drive to Hurghada. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: A journey east through the desert to Hurghada on the Red Sea Coast. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: A free day. You can either relax on the beach or take a boat ride to snorkel under crystal waters and some of the world's best coral reefs. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Drive back to Cairo. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: A free day in Cairo. In the late afternoon there is an opportunity to ride horses or camels in the desert and enjoy sunset near the Pyramids. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Transfer to Cairo Airport for departure.
