AL MASAR Gallery and itsArt Lounge in Zamalek offer two thrilling exhibitions: “Dialogue of Mind and Soul” by the renowned artist and cartoonist George Bahgory;and“Alienation”, the first solo exhibition by the established and highly talented artist Sami Abul-Azm. Last week we looked at Abul-Azm and this week will focus on Bahorgy. The exhibition showcases the artist's most recent works representing his inner dialogues between his mind and soul from a spiritual level while encompassing nostalgic feelings to symbols of everyday life and a whirlpool of thoughts and ideas that continuously breathe life to his soul. The collection displays the artist's unique representation of Egyptian daily lives, familiar urban scenes and traditions. The exhibition also shows the artist's sentimental longing and memories where he features social and traditional symbols and personas in his paintings. Bahgory continues to use the “Khayameya” print in most of his paintings to give emphasis on Egyptian folk culture. In one huge painting, the artist represents through his unique style a scene of spiritual and divine unity that manifests the unity of humanity that bonds mind and soul. The exhibition will continue through 21 February.
