On 29 November a lecture on ‘Digital Cinematography' presented by Egyptian cinematographer Saied El Shimy will be held at AUCNew Cairocampus in New Cairo, Film Screening Room PO13, AUC Center for Arts. El Shimy will discuss the development of digital film making and its influence on cinema. The event will be conducted in Arabic language. Lars Van Tier's film Breaking the Waves will be screened as part of the talk. The film won the Cannes Grand Prix in 1996. Lecture begins at 6pm. El Shimy is a veteran cinematographer who has worked with prominent directors: Atef El Tayeb, Mohamed Khan and Nader Galal on films such as Sawaq El Otobees, El ‘Aar, Nos Arnab, Wahda be Wahda and numerous others.
