Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry Monday said Egypt is determined to continue to support the rights of victims of terrorism and their families. Participating via an audio statement in the second ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism, held Monday on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Shoukry expressed appreciation to Afghanistan and Spain for their joint leadership of such important activities by the group at this critical phase where terrorists are trying hard to make use of the Covid-19 pandemic. Egypt deeply understands the suffering of the victims of terrorism and their families, given its experience and the daily confrontation of terrorism, he said. Egypt gives great attention to promoting the rights of these victims, he stressed, referring to various national efforts by the state in terms of providing protection and necessary social care and psychological rehabilitation, he added. Egypt is determined to continue its support to the group of action and to participate actively in its future activities, he added. The Egyptian foreign minister's participation in the meeting is part of the country's continued efforts to support the rights of terrorism victims at the international level, Egypt's permanent representative to the UN Mohamed Idris said.
